Message From HOD Desk
It gives me an immense pleasure and great opportunity to introduce Department of Mechanical Engineering under School of Technology (SOT) in ISB&M, PUNE. The department established in the year 2010, is currently running under graduate (UG) programme.
My new role as HOD, Mechanical Engineering Department utilizes my mix of teaching, research and management experience. I am extremely proud to present excellent quality programmes in Mechanical Engineering. Ever since the establishment of this institution, our primary goal for undergraduate students is to train future leaders with high-quality engineering education. The aim of department of Mechanical Engineering is to disseminate knowledge and technologies through quality teaching in mechanical disciplines.
The programme includes in-depth study of thermal, design, manufacturing and automation, mechanics, dynamics, and thermo-fluid and Robotics at core curriculum level to design the systems relevant for various industries. The Department has state of the art facilities in the thermal Engineering Systems Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics and machinery Lab, Engineering Materials and Metallurgy Lab, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Lab, Workshop, Computer aided design Lab, Strength of Materials Lab, Engines Lab, Heat Transfer Lab. Students are also trained in advanced modelling and analysis software’s of Creo.
In addition to the theoretical and laboratory based curriculum, students have to summer internship at the end of 4th and 6th semesters. Our highly innovative and qualified faculty members impart technical knowledge to students to take advantage of the many engineering opportunities, only made possible by emerging technologies.
